John Michael Wood (Mike), 75, born January 3rd, 1947, of Waldorf, MD passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on December 5th, 2022. Mike survived by his wife of 34 years, Patricia Wood. His two sons John Wood Jr. and Dustin Wood, his daughter Brandy Wood Bates and her husband Kevin Bates. His brother Jimmy Wood. His grandchildren Dustin Wood Jr., Betty Wood, Austin Wood and his wife Camryn Wood, Shelby Wood, Emily Wood, Justin Wood and John Wood III. His great grandchildren Madisyn Wood, Gabriella Wood, Noah Hill, Christian Bland, Milani Wood, Gabriel Bland, Aubrey Wood and Houston Wood. His deceased wife of 25 years, Betty Wood, mother Jerusha Wood, father Eugene Wood, brother Warran Wood and sister Kelly Buckler. Mike was a loving son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, husband and friend to all. Mike was born in Virginia but spent nearly all of his life in Charles County, Maryland. Mike was considered to be a jack of all trades. He owned his own company, Wood Construction where he would do just about any task possible. Mike enjoyed going fishing on a nice day. He spent most of his time creating endless memories with his children and grandchildren. When he had the chance he would enjoy sitting down to watch westerns or his favorite game shows Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Mike and his wife have two dogs named Scrappy and Precious who he adored. He loved to ride around the property on his Polaris Ranger spending the day in his garage working on many projects. For years Mike hosted Turkey shoots for all to enjoy. He was a man of few words but left an impact on the lives of so many. Mike was a long time dedicated member to the Waldorf Elks Lodge where him and his family gained many memories. He was involved in many things at the Elks Lodge but his favorite thing to do was cook steak on steak night for his family and friends. Mike will be remembered as a man who provided for his family, a loyal friend, hardworking, and someone you could depend on for anything. There will not be a day that goes by he is not missed. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 14th from 4:30pm- 6:30pm at Huntt Funeral Home 3035 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, MD 20601.
