Ruth Ellen Click, 71 years of age, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Medstar Franklin Square Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. Ruth was born April 20, 1953, in Washington, D.C. to the late William H. and Julia B. Lott and was the youngest of three children. She was a graduate of Potomac High School in Oxon Hill, MD. After high school, Ruth attended cosmetology school and enjoyed working as a cosmetologist and hairdresser. Ruth married the late Michael E. Click, Sr. in 1970 and together they had three children. The family moved to Avenue, MD in 1984 to their property on the water which she absolutely loved. Ruth enjoyed boating, fishing and crabbing, first at her grandparents’ property on White Point and then at her own property. She was a talented seamstress, knitter, and crafter and made beautiful floral arrangements, wreaths, and jewelry. She loved spending holidays and special events with her family and watching and supporting her grandchildren grow up. She could regularly be seen at their school and sporting events and at dance competitions and recitals. In her free time, she played pool and shuffleboard on the county leagues and enjoyed spending time with her friends. She was a loving and caring person, devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, always thinking of others first. “To know her was to love her.” Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Wesley W. Lott. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her children, Michael Click, Jr. and Barbara of Leonardtown, MD, Bryan Click of Avenue, MD, and Steven Click and DeeDee of Avenue, MD; her sister Martha Collaso of Clinton, MD; her grandchildren, Holly Click, Erin Click, Chelsea Click, Charles Brooks, Dani Brooks and Tori Brooks; her niece, Bunny Soots; her nephews, Randy Lott and Jason Lott, her great-niece, Ambre Soots; and extended family, and friends. A visitation for Ruth will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Rd, Waldorf, Maryland 20601. Funeral service will occur Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 12:00 PM, 3035 Old Washington Rd, Waldorf, Maryland 20601. Burial will occur Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman Beantown Road, Waldorf, Waldorf, Maryland 20601.
