Tributes

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved son and brother, Ryan Todd Riley, on February 22, 2025. Todd was born in Washington, D.C. on January 17, 1968. He grew up in Accokeek, MD attending Ferguson Elementary, Burroughs Junior High, Gwynn Park Senior High and the Kennedy Kreiger Institute. He worked at the Baretta factory for a period of time before the family moved to Mechanicsville, MD where Todd worked in the Produce department, first at McKays and then later at the Charlotte Hall Food Lion. Todd had a gentle soul which radiated like sunshine. Children and animals were naturally drawn to him as if they knew he would protect and take care of them. He was always willing to help others in any way he could. He was a dedicated fan of the Washington RedSkins, especially Darrell Green. Every Sunday Todd would either cheer them on or give them a good tongue lashing. As a true Marylander, Todd loved to eat crabs. When our family had crab feasts or visited our local crab house, Todd would be the last one up from the table after ensuring every crab and crab leg has been consumed. He thoroughly enjoyed football and spent his Sundays watching every possible game. Later in life, Todd enjoyed collecting rare coin sets as it was a passion he shared with our father. Todd had a very special relationship with our Mom. They were like partners in crime - sharing a love for the RedSkins and action movies. They had a pact, “Always by my side”. They would always be there for each other. We’ll greatly miss Todd’s humor, love, joy and the sunshine he brought us all. Funeral services will be held on March 4, 2025 at 10:30 at the Huntt Funeral Home in Waldorf, MD. Todd will be laid to rest at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, MD. Todd is survived by his parents, Barbara and Charles Riley, siblings, Leonard Riley (Alecia), Deborah Gray (Jamie), Douglas Riley (Mary Ann) and Jimmy Riley (Susan), niece and nephews April Zeltwanger (Tim), Chelsea Morrison (Brian), Chris Riley and Colby Riley (Cheryl), great nieces and nephew, Jayden Beall, RaeLynn Riley, Tyler Zeltwanger, Olivia Morrison and Quinn Morrison and first cousin Clifford Burch (Patti).
