    Mrs. Ethel Marie Howe

    November 4, 1939 - March 11, 2021

    Ethel Marie Howe, 81, of Waldorf, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata. Born on November 4, 1939 in Floyd, Virginia, she is the daughter of the late Dewey W. Largen and Edith L. Largen. Fondly known as “Miss Marie”, Mrs. Howe was a child care provider for Kinder Care (Post Office Road) with over 30 years of service. She loved playing scratch offs and Bingo, flowers, the State of Virginia, and most importantly “her kids”. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Howe was preceded in death by her husband Matthew L. Howe; infant sons Joseph and Baby Boy Howe; son-in-law Daniel Douglas Sr.; siblings Frieda Howe, Margie, Ted, Ed, Donald, Frank, Shelton, and Harry Largen. She is survived by her children Agnes Douglas, Mary Fuegel and her husband Robert, Matthew Howe Jr., Thomas Howe and his wife Stephanie, Christopher Howe, Cecelia Joseph, Daniel Howe Sr. and his wife Nichole; 19 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 10:30AM until time of service at 12:30PM at the Hughesville Baptist Church, 8505 Old Leonardtown Road, Hughesville, Maryland 20637. Interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, Maryland.
