Audrey Lorraine Patterson-Latimer's Obituary
Audrey Patterson Latimer (born Audrey Lorraine Shegogue), age 86 of La Plata, Maryland, died on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata, Maryland. Audrey was born to Easter and Eugene Shegogue on August 22, 1934 in Oxon Hill, Maryland. She is predeceased by her parents; her sister, Doris; and her first husband of over 50 years, Paul Kingsley Patterson.
Audrey is survived by her second husband, Guy Billingsley ‘Bill’ Latimer and his two children; her three sisters, Betty Johnson, Clara Murphy, and Beverly Lubin; her six children, Eugene ‘Gene’ (Eileen) Patterson, Patricia ‘Patty’ (Wayne) Whitfield, Paul Michael ‘Mike’ (Debbie) Patterson, Alan Patterson, Steven (Dana) Patterson, and Julie Patterson (Jesse) Garcia; her 20 grandchildren; and her 18 great-grandchildren.
Audrey was known to many as a loving Kindergarten teacher and Bible teacher at Southern Maryland Christian Academy. She spent much of her life active in church and working with children. She loved spending time with her family and made each individual feel loved and treasured. She will always remain in our hearts.
