Barbara Ann Barton's Obituary
Barbara Ann Barton (Hagan), age 83 of Charlotte Hall, Maryland passed away on Saturday, September 3rd. She was born July 10, 1939, in Washington D.C., to Austin and Louise Hagan (Jarboe).
After graduating Notre Dame Academy in June of 1957, Barbara met and married Harry James Barton, Jr. on July 2nd, 1960.
They lived in Hyattsville, Maryland and after completing the building of their home in Charlotte Hall, Maryland moved there in 1977.
Barbara worked for the Board of Education until her retirement on November 1, 2007, after serving 20 years as a Special Education Instructional Assistant throughout the Charles County School System.
Barbara enjoyed reading, craft fairs, specialty/country store shopping, time with family and friends, and she especially enjoyed her annual beach vacations with all her children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, and nephews.
Barbara is survived by her sons: James A Barton, Sr., (Patience) and Michael P. Barton (Desire), her grandchildren, James (Jay) Barton, Jr. and Sarah Barton, her brother Richard Hagan.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Harry J. Barton, Jr., her grandchild Jonathan A. Barton, and her sister Betty Walker (Joseph).
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 10:30AM until time of service at 12Noon at Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646.
Interment immediately followed at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf. Pallbearers will be Chris Cox, David Downs, Tim Hagan, John Platt, Steve Steinbach, and John Vennamann. Honorary Pallbearer is Rusty Hanbury.
