Betty Jean Mintz's Obituary
Betty Mintz, age 91, passed away with family on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at George Washington University Hospital.
Betty was born on November 25, 1932, in Asheville, North Carolina. She was predeceased in death by her husband of 72 years, Neal Mintz and their two sons Robert Mintz and Edward Mintz and son-in-law Al Monshower.
Betty relocated to Maryland from Asheville 67 years ago but remained close to family members there. She was a devoted stay at home wife and mom for years until a brief employment at Ely’s Department store in Indian Head.
She loved singing, watching birds, reading, adult coloring and beating her family at board games. She loved family, friends and neighbors. Family and friends learned many life lessons from her. She had an infectious laugh and smile. She was a devout Christian her whole life.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Brenda Monshower; her sister-in-law Judy Rhodes, granddaughter Kelly Ryan and husband Jim; and grandchildren Chris and Kara Mintz; great grandchildren Kayla Baker and husband Easton; Justin and Jack Ryan and Cory and Colin. Plus, many beloved nieces and nephews and other loving family members. Our hearts are saddened at such a tremendous loss.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 11 AM until funeral services at 12 PM at Raymonds Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646.
