Mrs. Betty Lou Thompson's Obituary
Betty Lou Thompson, 75, of Newburg, Maryland suddenly passed away on March 4, 2021 at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown.
Born on June 22, 1945 in Alderson, West Virginia, she is the daughter of the late Eurly Thomas Crowe and Mande Helen Crowe. Betty Lou was a personal assistant to many families by offering services of domestic care and catering. She enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens, fishing, caring for the birds around her home, and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Betty Lou was preceded in death by her son David Grogg; Helen Powell, Stella Pickeral, Patrick, William, Denton, Kenneth, George, and Elmer Crowe.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Philip Thompson; daughter Ruth Furbush and her husband Steve; sons Danny Grogg and Donnie Grogg; siblings John T. Crowe and Vivian Crowe; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 12:30PM until time of service at 1:30PM at the New Life Dome Church, 9690 Shepherds Creek Place, La Plata, Maryland 20646.
Due to COVID19 regulations, the Church has asked us to inform family, visitors, and friends that once church seating capacity (175) has been reached, everyone else will be asked to exit the Church and leave the premises.
Interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, Maryland.
