Carl Dean Hornbeak's Obituary
Carl Dean Hornbeak, 83, of Clinton, MD passed away peacefully on May 9, 2023. Born July 11, 1939, in Washington DC, he was the son of Carl Douglas and Ruby Lucille Hornbeak. Carl spent his life as a business owner and operating engineer, as well as an executive Vice President at Eskimo Pie Corporation. He became an avid reader, especially of the Bible and medical/nutritional information. He loved his family and would love to share his wisdom with each of his grandchildren, as well as spending every celebration with them. His contagious smile, humorous personality and storing telling will always be remembered, as well as his love of golf. He was a proud member of the Masonic Temple. He loved the Lord with all his heart.
Preceded in death by the love of his life, wife Barbara Ann Hornbeak of 63 years, His parents, Carl Douglas and Ruby Lucille Hornbeak, He is survived by his loving sons Todd Eric Hornbeak (Sherri) of Waldorf, MD and William Bradley Hornbeak (Margaret) of Mechanicsville, MD; grandchildren Carla Hornbeak DiMichele (Nick), Brandon Carl Hornbeak (Tessa), Stephanie Ann Hornbeak (Samuel) and Brittany Hornbeak Brunet (Dillion). As well as his beautiful great grandchildren, Brynlee, Lincoln, Annabelle, Kinley, Logan, Hudson, Charlie, Anthony, with baby Harrison due in August, as well as Rylie, Tristin and Ryker. His brother William Allen Hornbeak (Sharon) of Leonardtown, MD, As well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends for Carl’s Life Celebration on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. and 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at Raymond’s Funeral Home, P.A., 5635 Washington Ave, La Plata, MD 20646. A funeral service will be held at Grace Church Waldorf, 13000 Zekiah Dr., Waldorf, MD 20601 Wednesday, May 24, 2023, 1:30 pm. Pastor Carl H. Snyder will officiate. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3165 Mattawoman-Beantown Rd., Waldorf, MD 20604.
In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made in Carl’s name to the Clinton volunteer fire department and rescue squad; at 9025 Woodyard Rd, Clinton, MD 20735.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Hornbeak, Nick DiMichele, Samuel Borgholthaus, Dillion Brunet, Billy Hornbeak, Tristin Borgholthaus.
