Carla Jean Burke's Obituary
Carla (Thompson) Burke, 63, formerly of La Plata, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, surrounded by her family. Carla was born in Washington, DC, the daughter of Carl and Jane Thompson. She married Ronald (Kenny) Burke in 1975.
Loving wife, mother, and grandmother, her greatest joy was sharing time and experiences with her grandchildren and family. In addition, she possessed a natural talent and gift, as well as love, for designing flower gardens each season. Her displays, with a striking mix of color and variety, drew notice and compliments from all who viewed them. She generously shared her talents and skills with family and friends. She was an accomplished AKC breeder of exceptional Akitas, recognized both nationally and internationally.
Survived by her husband of 46 years, Ronald (Kenny) Burke; her sons Bryan and Kevin and daughter-in-law Chasity; daughter Amy; ten grandchildren. In addition, she leaves behind her father, two sisters, two brothers, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646 on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 10AM until time of service at 12PM.
Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf.
