CAROL DRUIN's Obituary
Carol Ann Druin, 84, passed away on March 26, 2026, at Green Acres Nursing Home in La Plata, Maryland, after a long journey with dementia. Born on November 4, 1941, in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Willis George Loeb and Violet Stutzman Loeb. She grew up in Tremont, Pennsylvania, where she graduated from Tremont High School at the top of her class. After graduating, she continued her education at the Ford School of Business, and moved to Washington, D.C., to begin her government career. Over the years, Carol worked in various federal divisions and ultimately retired from the U.S. Census Bureau after many years of dedicated service. She earned numerous awards recognizing her superior performance and commitment. Carol was known for her remarkable musical and artistic talent. She took organ and piano lessons throughout her youth and shared her love of music by playing in many churches and at community events. In school, she played various musical instruments in the marching band. Outside of music, she enjoyed reading, doing crosswords, nurturing her plants, crocheting, needlepoint, and other crafts. She is survived by her two children, William “Billy” Burroughs, Jr. (Joy) and Karen Burroughs; her grandchildren Jessica Burroughs, Bethany Burroughs, Katey Burroughs, Gracie Burroughs, and Josie Burroughs; and her great grandchildren, Paxton and Ryann Smith. Family will receive visitors at Raymond Funeral Service, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646 on Friday, May 15, 2026, starting at 12:00 p.m. Service begins at 1:00 p.m. and interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20601.
