Carol A. McCarty, 74, entered into rest on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at her residence.
She was born December 16, 1942 in Gallitzin, PA, the daughter of the late Francis John and Alice Marie (McCloskey) Lingenfelter.
Carol was a registered nurse in the Army Nurse Corps and served as a nurse in the Baltimore community for over 50 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in York and volunteered for Catholic Harvest Food Pantry.
She is survived by two children, Shaun C. McCarty and wife, Jennifer of Columbia, MD, and Renee D. Hammond and husband, Andrew of Forest Hill, MD; three grandchildren, Timothy, Nicholas, Hailey; and sister, Betty Dillard.
A visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Friday October 27, 2017 at St. Joseph Church, 2935 Kingston Rd. York, with a Catholic Mass at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Menkhus OFM Cap officiating. Burial will be Saturday October 28, 2017 at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, MD. The John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York, is assisting with arrangements.
