Catherine Clara Nixon's Obituary
Catherine Clara Nixon transitioned to the Lord on Monday, September 25, 2023. She was born December 28, 1940 in Brookhaven, Pennsylvania, the oldest child of Jasper and Catherine Bynum.
Kathy, with a “K”, as she was known to her friends and family gave her life to Christ at the First Church of God in Brookhaven, PA at an early age. As an adult she was a member and served faithfully as a beloved member of the Accokeek First Church of God.
Kathy met and was married to the love of her life, Kerwood “Kirk” Nixon for over fifty-four years. Two sons, Brian and Mark were born from that union.
Kathy’s hobbies and interests were gardening and cooking. She loved flowers and could identify most of them by name. She grew a variety of trees and shrubs and was very generous in sharing cuttings from many of them. She was an avid cook and shared her cooking and recipes with others.
Kathy leaves to mourn her two grandsons, Robbie and Andy (England); one daughter-in-law, Kathryn; one brother, Mark (Bridgette); her nephews; beloved friends, Charles and Monique Poole; and a host of friends to whom she was dear. She was preceded in death by her husband and both sons.
