Cindy Lou Hardin's Obituary
Cindy Lou (Massie) Hardin, 62, Spring Hope, North Carolina, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 17, 2022. She was born in Riverdale, Maryland to Lola (Carter) Massie and the late Robert L. Massie. Cindy was the biological mother of three children, however, many people considered Cindy their surrogate mother.
Cindy was an exceptional wife, mother, and grandmother (Mamaw). She cared deeply for her family and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She was always the first to offer help. She ensured that every child who crossed her threshold was safe, healthy, and happy. She was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and everyone’s children. Anyone who knew her knew that she was a star in their eyes, and that is all that mattered to her! She was also an expert in Arts & Crafts from making clothes, costumes, to crocheting, scrapbooking to making wreaths. She was generous with her knowledge and skills, and enjoyed teaching others in and outside of her home. She was best known for her kindness, humor, and the love of her family and Ford Mustangs.
Cindy is survived by her three daughters, Elizabeth Walter and her husband, Joe; Amanda Smith; Brandi Nussbaum and her husband, Mark; 9 grandchildren, Kendal and Kyle Bittner, Joseph Walter, Joseph Andrews and Joshua Smith, and Bentley and Brittan Hughes, Jaxton and Baby Nussbaum; and her siblings, Ann Farmer, Mary Massie, Brenda Trust, along with extended family and friends.
Her husband James E. Hardin, her father Robert L. Massie and her brother Robert L. Massie Jr. preceded her in death.
Our family is grateful to know that Cindy (Mom/Mamaw) and James (Dad/Papaw) are finally at peace together for eternity. For their internment, please join us Saturday, June 11th at 11:00 AM at Trinity Memorial Gardens & Mausoleum, 3221 Mattawoman Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601.
Celebration of Life to follow immediately.
