Clara Harper's Obituary
Clara Mae Harper, 75, of Brandywine, Maryland, passed away March 8, 2018. Clara was born on December 16, 1942 to the late James Robert Wilkerson and the late Mildred Heights DeMarr Wilkerson.
Clara was a graduate of LaPlata High School. She worked for 30 years as a beautician, retiring in 2013. She enjoyed her grandchildren, flowers of all types, cooking, sewing and being a strong independent woman, who lived life her way to the end.
Clara is survived by her children, Scott Shannon (Joanne), Faron Harper (Sherri) and Paula Murphy (Will Rowe); seven grandchildren, Robert J. Shannon, Tori L Shannon, Matthew E. Harper, Tyler Harper, Falon L. Harper, Kaitlin M. Murphy and James E Murphy IV. Also surviving are her brother, James R. Wilkerson, Jr. and sister, Elizabeth A. Coulby. She is preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Barnes Harper, Jr.
Family will receive friends for a Memorial Gathering on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 5-8pm with Prayers at 7pm at Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Clara’s name may be made to: Hospice of Charles County, 2505 Davis Road, Waldorf, MD 20603.
