Deborah Lee Ogilvie's Obituary
Deborah Lee Ogilvie was born in Cumberland, MD on April 3, 1952 to the late Shirley Lee and William Howard Ogilvie. She was raised in Hyattsville, MD and graduated from Northwestern High School in 1970. Born into a generation that valued hard work, integrity, and commitment, she carried those principles with her throughout every stage of her life. From an early age, she possessed a sharp eye for detail, appreciation for character and history found within homes and communities. Those qualities led her into the field of real estate, where she established herself as a respected and dependable professional, first as an agent, then broker and finally as a real estate appraiser. Debbie spent over 40 years in the real estate industry before retiring. Outside of her professional accomplishments, Debbie’s greatest pride has always been her family. She was the loving mother of a son and daughter who have each benefited from her guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support throughout their lives. As a mother, she balanced responsibility with compassion, creating a home filled with warmth, humor, and stability. She taught her children the importance of hard work. She and Greg built a home and life together. As business partners and soulmates, they spent time together at work and at play. Debbie embraced one of the most rewarding chapters of her life; becoming a grandmother. Her grandchildren brought a new energy and joy into her world, and she quickly became a cherished source of comfort, wisdom, and fun in their lives. Whether attending family gatherings, celebrating milestones, shopping for thoughtful gifts, or simply spending quality time together, Grammy always made her grandchildren feel deeply loved. Debbie is survived by her partner and best friend, Gregory A Lewis, her son, Vincent E McGowan III (Diane), daughter, Cathy L McGowan (John), Evan C Lewis (Rosie), and grandchildren, Elizabeth L Kidwell, Seth A Lewis, Cole T Lewis, Ryan C Raley (Crystal), Brooke N Raley (Shawn) and great grandchildren, Christopher B and Rylynn C Raley, her brother Gregory H Ogilvie (Nancy) and several nieces. Debbie was an advocate for organ donation through her life. Upon her death she was able to provide sight to 1-2 people with the donation of her corneas. Pallbearers: Vincent E McGowan III, Evan C Lewis, John B Raley, Jr. Gregory H Ogilvie, Seth A Lewis and Cole T Lewis. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Charles County Volunteer Rescue Squad Co. 2 Calvert St, La Plata, MD 20646.
