Donald William Langley's Obituary
Donald William Langley, age 73, of Waldorf, MD passed away on February 12, 2023. He was born in Baltimore, MD on September 20, 1949 to Francis T. and Agnes (Richards) Langley. Donald was a 1967 graduate of La Plata High School and received his Bachelor of Commercial Science degree from Benjamin Franklin University in 1971. Upon graduation from college, Donald enlisted in the Army National Guard where he proudly served for many years.
Working as an accountant for most of his life, he retired from Bridgett, Mock and Associates in Waldorf, MD. Donnie was a longstanding member of the Hughesville Optimist Club. He was a skilled craftsman; most of his projects were made by using his own designs. His other hobbies included farming on his family’s land in White Plains, duckpin bowling at Curly’s Bowling Alley and playing baseball and softball throughout Southern Maryland. Donald’s favorite hobby was watching his grandchildren participate in their sporting events, he was always there to cheer them on. He was known to brag about his two daughters, who are both nurses, and the antics of his 8 grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Donald is preceded in death by his brother Patrick Langley. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Audrey Langley; daughters, Casey Langley (Dan) Morrison and Courtney Langley (Greg) Speakes; grandchildren, Riley, Rachel, Daniel, and Jacob Morrison, Callie, Maddie, Griffin and Sadie Speakes; siblings, Hazel Langley, Mary Young, Betty Canter, Karen Young, Thomas Langley and Keith Langley; brother-in-law, John Durrer and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 27, 2023 at Raymond Funeral Home, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD.. The family will welcome visitors from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with prayers at 7pm. On Tuesday at 12:30pm family and friends are invited for one last goodbye, followed by a 1:30om burial at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association at P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023 or Donate Life America at 5516 Falmouth Street, Suite 302, Richmond, VA 23230.
Donald received the gift of life from an organ donor 5 years ago and his family asks for consideration to be given to signing up to be an organ donor.
