Obituary for Edna Peach Dean
Edna Peach Dean, 96, of Port Royal, VA, passed peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, February 24, 2022. Edna was born on October 29, 1925, in Prince George’s County, MD, to the late John Payne Sr. and Hattie L. Trammell Payne.
Edna married her late husband, William H. Dean, on June 14, 1944. They shared 7 children together. She worked as a retail accounts supervisor. She was a hard worker but, always made time for her family. Edna loved playing cards, doing crossword puzzles and reading. She was always “sharp as a tack” and spent her time doing her favorite things even in her final days.
She joins in heaven, her parents John and Hattie, her husband William Sr., her many brothers and sisters, her sons William Jr., Robert, Thomas, James, and her daughter Linda Ferguson, one great grandchild and a great-great grandchild.
Edna is survived by her daughters Betty Palmer, Patricia Cooksey (Pat), sister Mary Ann Payne, brother Robert Payne, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
