EDWARD DAVIS MACAULEY's Obituary
dward Davis “Eddie” Macauley, 89, passed away peacefully at his home in Winchester, VA, surrounded by the family he loved so much. Born on September 25, 1936 in New Brunswick, New Jersey, he is the son of William David Macauley (Pheroba Marchant Macauley) and Margaret Rose (Canavera Macauley) Molchan. Eddie served in the U.S. Air Force, Honorably Discharged in 1962, before beginning his career as an expert carpenter. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passing along a legacy of integrity, hard work, and a love of the outdoors. He would say, “Material things don’t mean anything. It’s the love between that matters.” And he loved well! Eddie is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carol; two sons, Jeff and wife Allison, and Billy and wife Melissa; grandchildren George, Morgan, Emily and Jordan, Victoria and Brandon, Taylor, Grant and Kara, Marshall and Reagan, Caroline, and James; and two great grandchildren Eleanor and Obadiah; brother George and wife Glenda Marchant, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He is predeceased by his sister Edna and husband Danny Barry. Visitors will be received on Friday, June 5, 2026 from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM at Raymond Funeral Service, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, Maryland. The family will host a picnic to reminisce and celebrate Eddie’s life at a later date (to be announced).
