Elizabeth Ann Adams' Obituary
Elizabeth Ann (Liddie) Adams, 87, of Gainesville, VA, passed away on July 20, 2026, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Haymarket, VA. A lifelong resident of Southern Maryland, she had moved to Virginia only 2 years earlier. Born August 23, 1938, she was the daughter of George and Emma Hoffman, and is predeceased by her late husband, William Horace Adams. Liddie was the youngest of 11 children and the last surviving sibling. Her hands were rarely still—they were always busy stitching beautiful quilts, coaxing blooms from her flower garden, or patiently waiting to feed a visiting bird or wildlife. Liddie is survived by her daughter, Patricia Redding (Jason), granddaughter, Lexie Brinson (Jordan), grandson, Jason Redding, Jr. (Ashley), and great granddaughter, Magnolia Brinson, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be held on July 28th, 2026 at 10:30am, and service at 11:30 at Raymond Funeral Service located at 5635 Washington Ave La Plata MD, 205646. Followed by interment at 1pm at Trinity memorial gardens located at 3321 Mattawoman Beantown Rd, Waldorf MD, 20601. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Inova Health Foundation (Breast Cancer Program, 8095 Innovation Park Drive, Fairfax, VA. 22031), and The Medical Team Hospice (The Medical Team Hospice, 1896 Preston White Drive Reston, VA. 20191) in honor of Liddie.
