Elizabeth Ann Cooksey's Obituary
Elizabeth Ann Cooksey, age 76, of La Plata, MD, passed away on November 9, 2016 at Fenwick Landing Senior Care Community in Waldorf, MD.
Elizabeth was a former Bookkeeper with American Hardware in Waldorf, MD. She enjoyed gardening and had a liking for her flowers and plants. She also liked antiques and enjoyed taking walks. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was the daughter of the late Samuel Elwood Wilson and the late Mary Catherine Mattingly Wilson. She was also preceded in death by one son, Bobby Hamilton; two brothers, Bill Wilson and Ray Wilson; and one sister, Mary Strobel.
She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Rupert "Pete" Cooksey; one son, David A. Hamilton; one daughter, Vicki Futch and her husband Alan; one brother, Jim Wilson; one sister, Catherine Housley; and five grandchildren, David, Robert, Brianna, Kaden, and Alana.
Friends received on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 5-8PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel (5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646), where a Wake Service will also be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 7PM. Family will be meeting at Raymond Funeral Service on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 9:30-10:30AM and then process to Trinity Memorial Gardens (3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601) for Interment. Following interment, friends are invited to the FOP Lodge on Rosewick Road.
