Elizabeth Anne Robertson's Obituary
Elizabeth (Liz) Anne Goupee Robertson, 89, of Arlington, VA, passed away peacefully Friday, October 8, 2022. She was born in Washington, DC, to Edward John Gouipee and Ruth Watson Gouipee on July 28, 1933. She was a graduate of Immaculata High School, Washington, DC.
She graduated from St. Louis University, St. Louis, Missouri, and earned her master’s degree at American University, Washington, DC. After graduating from St. Louis University, she taught Elementary School in St. Louis, Missouri, for approximately ten years.
Elizabeth returned to Washington, DC, and was employed as an Instructor for the U.S. Navy Department, and retired after 25 years of service. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Arlington, VA, until her death.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents and cousin, Martha Ann Rauthis. She is survived by her cousins Mary Patricia Buckley and Daniel James Kopfle of Omaha, Nebraska; Suzanne Marie Grissom, Kissimmee, FL; Dorothy Bell Hays, Jacksonville, FL; Charles Whitney Abell, Jr, Winter Garden, FL; William Smyth Abell Quinton, VA, and Mary Virginia Smyth, Apopka, FL.
A Christian burial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Arlington, VA, (at a later date) with the Reverend Father Frederich H. Edlefsen as Celebrant with interment following at the Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD.
