Frances L Gant, age 82, of Waldorf, MD is survived by her loving family.
Reflection of Life
Frances L. Gant, 82, of Waldorf, MD, departed this earthy life peacefully on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the Restore Health Rehabilitation Center in Waldorf, MD. She was born on August 24, 1943, to the late James Leo Knott and Mary Nettie Dade Knott.
She was educated in the Charles County Public School System. Frances met the love of her life, the late Harrison Wilbert Gant, in 1968 and was married for 54 years. She truly adored her husband and was affectionally known as his “Baby Doll”. Out of this union they had one son.
Frances was a manager of housekeeping at the Econo Lodge in Waldorf, MD and a School Bus Attendant for the Charles County School System.
She enjoyed playing cards and talking on the phone with her family and friends. Frances also loved spending time with her brother Clayton Knott of which she was like a second mother to him. She was a very generous woman, if the family needed anything she was always willing to assist. Frances enjoyed shopping and speeding time with her niece Sylvia and her husband Al Carroll. She had a special relationship with her great nephew Brandon Winters and great niece Danielle Carroll who was her very first care giver. Frances also had a special relationship with all her other nieces and nephews.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents James Leo Knott and Mary Nettie Dade Knott; husband, Harrison W. Gant; brothers, John, James and Daniel Knott; sisters, Anna Mae Knott, Sarah Knott, Mary Eva Dorsey, Helen Rosier, Barbara Smoot and Dorthy Eleanor Ford.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son Cornelius Knott; sister Audrey Proctor; brothers, Joseph (Marie) Knott and Clayton Knott; one granddaughter, Keyona Briscoe; two great-grandchildren, Keon Revis and Lauren Battle and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
