Francis Lawrence Polzin Jr.'s Obituary
Prince Frederick - Francis L Polzin, Jr (Larry) passed away peacefully on November 26, 2023 after a long illness, and is now reunited with his inseparable companion, Amanda Walker, who preceded him in death.
Larry was born July 3, 1935 in Rome, NY to the late Francis L Polzin, Sr. and Helen A Polzin. He began his civilian career with the Department of Defense in 1953. Served his country for 6 years in the US Army and reserves in the late 1950s. In 1971, he relocated his family to the Washington, D.C. area for a better opportunity with the Air Force Systems Command at Andrews AFB. Larry was employed as a computer systems analyst, a modern-day IT professional. He spent several years with the 89th Communications Group/Airlift Wing before retiring in 1996 with 43 years of dedicated service.
Larry is survived by his two sons, Tom Polzin (Sandy) of Charlotte, NC and Jim Polzin (Linda) of Mount Airy, MD, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and his brother, John Polzin. He is also survived by his extended family- Dessie Herbert (Dave), Jennifer LoCascio (Bernie), Tim Walker (Carol), and Susan DeHetre (Tom) including numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation and Service will be held Monday December 4th, 2023, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, 100 Village St. Waldorf, MD 20602. Visitation is at 10:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens 3221 Mattawoman Beantown Rd Waldorf, MD 20601.
