Gary Allen Lewis Jr.'s Obituary
Gary Allen Lewis, Jr., 34, of Bel Alton, MD passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
Gary was born on January 17, 1990, in Clinton, MD to Gary A. Lewis, Sr. and the late Susan Murray Lewis.
Gary is also survived by his Aunts, Kim Murray (Frank Thompson) and Sharon Payne-Ashby (Fred Ashby) and Sandra L. Lewis Fennell; Uncle, A.J. Lewis (Linda); cousins, great Aunts and many friends.
Gary graduated from LaPlata High School in 2010. He started working at Ledo’s Pizza in LaPlata at the age of 15 and several years later was promoted to a management position. Many of his former employees have shared that they respected him, loved working for him, and that he was the best manager they’d ever had. In 2019, he started working as an electrical apprentice and quickly became passionate about it. Gary was a lover of all sports but his favorite was football. Gary was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan and always made time to enjoy watching the games with his ‘Pops’, to the friendly chagrin of his Mom. In his spare time, he enjoyed attending music festivals and barbecues with friends. Gary was always a kind soul and made lasting friendships throughout the years. He had an explosive, unique laugh. Gary’s nickname, known by most of his friends, was “GarBear”. Gary will be deeply missed.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday November 27, 2024, from 9 until service time at 11 AM at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home (211 St. Mary’s Ave., LaPlata, MD 20646). Interment to follow at the Trinity Memorial Gardens (3221 Mattawoman Beantown Rd., Waldorf, MD 20601). Pallbearers will be Zac Brzezicki, Matt Dugan, Derek Basulto, Cody Simpson, Craig Simpson and Nick Wilson.
