GAYLE KINSER BARRETT's Obituary
Gayle Kinser Barrett, 79, died peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, following her incredibly valiant battle to extend her life. Gayle was born in a Washington, DC area hospital on March 11, 1947 and was a native of Indian Head, MD. She was a member of the Lackey High School graduating class of 1965. Gayle relocated to Jacksonville, FL in 1980. She worked in the budget field for the Navy at various commands in the Washington, DC area and ultimately in Jacksonville until her retirement from civil service. She was preceded in death by her father Howard, mother Mary Verna, and sister Mary Lee. She is survived by her husband Joe, son Donald Wamsley and grandson Brian Wamsley, his significant other Brittany Ring, and her son William Kumala, son Chris Wamsley and his wife Jennifer and their children Ashley, her husband Alex, and Justin, her canine friend Stella, and a host of cherished cousins, sisters and brothers in law, nieces and nephews, and special friendships. A graveside service will be held at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, Maryland on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 10:30 A.M.
