Gladys Bernetta Darney's Obituary
Gladys Bernetta Darney, 98 of Mechanicsville, Maryland, passed away on February 19, 2019 at Hospice of St. Mary’s. Gladys was born July 10, 1920 in Clinton, Maryland to Emory Lawrence Fowler and Myrtle M. (Moore) Fowler.
Gladys worked at Andrews Air Force Base during the war, Acacia Life Insurance Company in Washington, DC, and managed Cape St. Mary’s Marina of Hollywood. She enjoyed gardening flowers and vegetables, and being with her family (especially her grandchildren).
She is survived by her daughter, Janet Collins (Pat) of Mechanicsville, Maryland; her siblings, Marion Vaughn and Walter Fowler (Joyce) of Clinton, Maryland; her grandchildren, Dawn M. Peters and Dorie Schwitzer (Patrick); her great grandchildren, Jessica Kirkpatrick (Eric), Amanda M. Milillo (Jesse), Sabrina Shadwell (Richard), John C. Peters, Grace L. Peters, and Katarina Schwitzer; and five great great grandchildren, Dominic, Vincent, Jesse, Brodie, and Jakob. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends received on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 from 9AM until time of Funeral Service at 11AM at Raymond Funeral Service Chapel (La Plata, Maryland). Interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens (Waldorf, Maryland).
