Gloria Lee Wedding's Obituary
Gloria Lee Wedding, 87, of Mechanicsville, MD, died on May 27, 2023.
Gloria was born on May 6, 1936, in Washington, DC to the late Pearl G. (Saunders) and George E.
Johnson.
Gloria worked in food Administration at Physicians Memorial Hospital (Now known as, University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center) La Plata, MD. She enjoyed being outside; working around the farm, tending the animals, painting and gardening. She was a volunteer for over 15 years with the Bread Ministry at the United Methodist Church in Oxon Hill, MD.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, George W. Johnson; sister, Shirley A. Best; and grandson, William “P.J.” L. Wedding, III.
She is survived by her sons; William “Pete” L. Wedding, Jr., and George E. Wedding and his wife Janice; grandchildren; June M. Link (JC), and Frank E. Wedding; great grandchildren; Alyssa Bilodeau, Travis Wedding, Breanna Wedding, and Fiona Link; brother, Gordon R. Johnson and his wife Betty; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 PM at Raymond Funeral Service, 5635 Washington Ave, La Plata, MD 20646. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD.
Pallbearers are; Frank Wedding, Travis Wedding, JC Link, Kenny Canter, Greg Thompson, and Ricky Hicks.
