Mr. Harold Alan Hintze's Obituary
Harold Alan Hintze of Waldorf, MD died on March 17, 2021 at his residence. He was 89 years old.
Born March 2, 1932 in Waldorf, MD, he was the son of the late Herbert Frederick Hintze and the late Pearl Simms Hintze. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Arthur Hintze and Russell Hintze and his sister Mildred Shockey. He is survived by his sisters, Christine Burch, Shirley Bailey, and Rita Hogge.
Harold was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served during the Korean war. He was honorably discharged in 1956 at the age of 24.
Harold retired from SMECO in 1997 after 40 years of service. He was a dedicated member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Waldorf, MD as well as the American Legion. He was a fan of the Washington Nationals, loved the outdoors and enjoyed working in his yard. He had a passion for hunting and enjoyed his annual trips to West Virginia with his hunt club buddies. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his family, who were the loves of his life. He had a special bond with each of his grandchildren and left them with many happy memories.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Doris Istvan Hintze and their three children, Alan Hintze (Sissy) Waldorf, MD, Cindy Cuklanz (Rick) Leonardtown, MD, and Larry Hintze (Cathy) of Mechanicsville, MD. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Jason Hintze (Kelly), Leanne Reid (Justin), Brandi Margolies (Steven), Nathan Cuklanz, Alex Cuklanz, Joe Hintze, Erica McDaniel (Dillon), and Stephanie Hintze, as well as six great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends for Harold’s Life Celebration Gathering on Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory, 30195 Three Notch Rd, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.
Funeral Service is Monday, March 29, 2021 and will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 3320 St. Peter’s Dr, Waldorf, MD 20601 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman Beantown Rd, Waldorf, MD 20601, at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 3320 St Peters Dr, Waldorf, MD 20601.
