Helen Finch Hardesty's Obituary
Helen F. Hardesty, 87 of Shady Side, Maryland, passed away on January 4, 2023, in Prince Frederick, Maryland.
Helen was born on May 30, 1935, in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Charles Wesley and Velma Beatrice Willingham Finch. Helen graduated from Gwynn Park High School in Brandywine, MD. After graduating High School, Helen worked at Peoples Life Insurance Co. in Washington, DC. Helen later worked and retired from Motor Vehicles Administration (MVA) after 30 years.
Helen enjoyed many things, which consisted of cooking and baking. She loved spending time with family and her favorite time of year was the holiday season. She enjoyed reading, crafting, and shopping. She also enjoyed watching Hallmark Christmas movies, watching Law and Order, and enjoyed many luncheons after Sunday Church Service.
In addition to her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her husband, John Francis Hardesty Jr. Followed by her sister- Peggy Sasscer, Son- Douglas Schwien, and Daughter – Janice Donovan.
Helen is survived by her grandchildren – Dawn Hall, Brian & Candice Schwien, and Kacy Donovan.
Followed by her great-grandchildren – Faith Reeder, Fallyn Dodson, Nolan Schwien, Griffin Donovan, and Ryker McManus.
As well as her sister – Carol Earnshaw following additional nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 11AM – 12PM, Followed by a Service at 12:00PM – 12:30PM at Raymond Funeral Service, P.A located at 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, located 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20601.
