Mr. James Edward Garrett's Obituary
James Edward Garrett, 72, of Welcome, MD, died January 10, 2017.
James was a welder for 50 years with WW Fabrications and the Dept. of Agriculture and finally, with the Naval Ordnance Station in Indian Head, MD. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam from 1966-1968. He loved fishing, boating, going to classic car shows, cutting grass, and being with his children and grandchildren, especially at family functions.
He was the son of Harold Garrett and Regena Fay Mills Garrett. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Joyce Bowie.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, June Ann Garrett; his sons: Michael Edward Garrett (Laura) and Timothy James Garrett; his brothers: Ronald L. Garrett, Robert H. Garrett, and Kenneth W. Garrett; his sister, Susie Saul (Bill Scott); his grandchildren: Emily, Destiny, Miranda, Heather, Jake, and Cole; and his great grandchildren: Oliver and Payton.
Friends received on Wednesday, January 18, from 5-8 p.m. with Prayer Service at 6 p.m. at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Ave., La Plata, MD 20646 and where Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 19 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, MD, with full U.S. Army Honors.
