James Edward Horton's Obituary
James Edward Horton, 86, from Bryantown, MD, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2024, with his daughters by his side. He was born on January 8, 1938 in Canan, AR.
He worked in construction most of his life. Progressing through the ranks, he eventually attained the position of Vice President at The William Berry Co. His dedication and reputation earned him respect within the company.
In 1957, Jim met his future wife, Marion Lobisch. They fell in love and married on August 9, 1957. They were later blessed with two daughters and spent 64 years of marriage together.
He enjoyed golfing, boating, and working in his yard. After retirement, he had the freedom to enjoy his favorite activities. Golfing under the warm sun and tending to his lush landscape brought him a sense of peace and joy that he longed for during his busy working years.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, Paul Isaac Horton, Hazel Lena Geltrude, his beloved wife Marion, son-in-law David Saunders, and grandson Brian Saunders. He is survived by his daughters, Terry Saunders, Deborah Jerome (David), brother, Danny K. Horton, grandchildren Anthony Jerome (Alexis), Nicholas Jerome (Sierra), and Candy Quade.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm with the service beginning at noon at Brinsfield Funeral Home, 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Interment will follow after the service at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601.
