Jeanne Gwendolyn Beek-Commo's Obituary
Jeanne Gwendolyn Beek Commo, 93, of Indian Head, MD passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital.
Born March 16, 1930, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late John O. Beek and Viola L. Beek.
Jeanne graduated from Lackey High School in 1949. She worked 32 years as an Equipment Specialist for the U.S. Naval Ordinance Station in Indian Head, MD. Her job was to run the DIPEC program which kept track of all of the equipment that the Department of Defense owned, as well as their location and current condition. She cherished times spent with her grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, solving crossword puzzles and eating crabs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Carolyn D. Harbour and first husband Thomas A. Commo.
Jeanne is survived by her son, Dennis A. Commo and his wife, Laura of Indian Head, MD and three grandchildren: Ronnie Scott (Dorothea) of Mechanicsville, MD; Sean Commo (Kathleen) of Carrollton, VA and Jordyn Commo of Chesapeake Beach, MD. She is also survived by four nieces and one nephew.
All services will be private for the family.
