Jerrilyn Rose Zaccarelli - Herfurtner's Obituary
Jerrilynn Rose Weber Zaccarelli Herfurtner was born December 6, 1943 in Huron, South Dakota, the daughter of Daniel Weber and Marian Tyrrell Weber. She attended pre-school at Yale, South Dakota. Then her parents moved to Tulare, South Dakota where she attended grade school. Her parents then moved to Raymond, South Dakota where she attended and graduated from high school in 1961. The summer of 1961 she attended and graduated from business school in Omaha, Nebraska. In December of 1961 she was employed by CIA in Washington, DC. While in D.C. she met Dominic E. Zaccarelli (Doc) who was attending George Washington College. On June 29, 1963 she married (Doc) and to this union three children were born. They lived in the Harrisburg/Hummelstown area for a number of years. Through the many promotions (Doc) received, they eventually ended in La Plata, Maryland. Dominic E. Zaccarelli died April 14, 1996. Jerri met Lawrence J. Herfurtner (Larry) and married February 14, 1997 while working as a Cemetarian for Sunset, Oak Hill and Laurel Cemeteries in Fredericksburg, VA. Jerri became a member of the Catholic faith and transferred her membership to St. Joseph in Pomfret, Maryland. Jerri was a Lector for many years at St. Joseph. Doc and Jerri also hosted the program for engaged couples for a number of years. Jerri was a Cemetarian for over 25 years helping families with grief counseling. Jerri had many changes in her life but God was always first. Her manta was that “God would never burden us with more than He knew we could handle.” Jerri will be long remembered for her kindness and generosity in giving to people, loving her children, grand and great grandchildren, friends and neighbors. Jerri’s family meant the world to her. Some of her hobbies were travel, flowers, fried chicken, Elvis and reading her Bible. Preceding in death were her parents, her husbands (Doc) and (Larry), her son Dominic F. Zaccarelli, a brother, Jeff Weber, Great Grand Daughter Sophia L. Davis and her aunts, uncles, and many friends. Survivors include her daughters Tracy Zaccarelli and Sherri Humphrise and her husband Ramont, daughter-in-law Kris Zaccarelli, grandchildren Carolyn, Tony, Rachel, Thomas, Selina, Kenneth, Kylie, and A. J., Seventeen great grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Saturday August 1st, 2026 from 9:30 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM to follow at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. Entombment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601. Memorials may be made to Hope House of Fredericksburg or Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers.
