JOHN MARK BRYANT, SR. age 67 of Greensboro, North Carolina formerly of Waldorf, Maryland is survived by his loving family.

John Mark Bryant, Sr., 67 passed away peacefully surrounded by family at home on April 4, 2023. John Mark was born August 14, 1955 in Tampa, Florida to the late Charles Spurgeon Bryant Jr. and Anna Mae Hofmann Bryant Walczak and stepfather, Marvin Wayne Walczak. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Sharon Faith Heslin and Charles Spurgeon Bryant III.
Mark had a 12th grade education. He was an amazing man who had a multitude of life experiences. He started volunteering at the Bryans Road Fire’s Department in his high school years. He was a Webelos leader for a troop. He made sure that all his troop earned all their badges. He spent most of his career as a manufacturing rep for electrical supplies. He spent many years as all his children’s soccer coaches. Later in life he volunteered for the Maryland State Police and worked for the Charles County Sherriff’s Auxiliary program as its coordinator for several years.
Mark was a son, husband, father, brother, friend, and grandfather. He was married to his devoted wife of 40 years and loved doing life with her. He was a Christ-follower. He was a faithful member of several Churches of the Nazarene where he was a board member. Mark loved life and loved his puppy Baby, shooting his guns, Christian word searches and competitions with the kids, loved watching Law and Order SVU and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was full of love and life and a little bit of mischief. He loved the Lord’s prayer.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Lee Bryant, his children, Richard Berg Zsakany Jr. and wife Bonnie Zsakany, Melissa Bennett and husband Robert Bennett, John Mark Bryant Jr. and wife Erin Bryant, Crystal Curasi and Husband Chris Curasi, Holly Ridgell and husband Matt Ridgell, and Amy Goad and husband Kevin Goad. Grandchildren, Serena Bennett, Gabriella Zsakany, Stanley Jackson, Mackenzie Bennett, Will Bennett, Matty Ridgell, and Jamison Bryant, Hailey Goad and William Goad. His sisters Charlene Sarita Ursey, Earlene Carol Ketchaver and her husband, Dennis Wayne Ketchaver and adopted sister, Catherine Jean Rush. Nieces and Nephews, Adolfo Thurman Ursey III (TJ) and wife Tricia Ursey (Wife), Josiah Thomas Ursey, Kenny Wayne Keene, Johnathan Edward Heslin, Alyssa Heslin, Cyrus Heslin, Cynthia Rebecca Bryant, Kristi Renee Bryant Delahoussaye and husband Clay Delahoussaye (children Cole and Kenzie Delahoussaye), Staci Comeaux and husband Allen Comeaux (children Ian and Collin Comeaux).
Visitation will be held April 15, 2023, at Lifestream Church of the Nazarene, from 10-11 AM. Service will be held following at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf.
Pallbearers will be William Chris Curasi, David J. Baldwin, Richard Berg Zsakany, John Mark Bryant Jr., Thomas Ridgell and Kevin Goad.
