Joseph Leroy Asmussen was born on January 27, 1938 to Johann and Nettie Asmussen in Cheltenham, MD. Joseph was known to his nieces and nephews as “Leroy” growing up. Joseph was born mentally challenged and after his parents deaths in 1977 he was placed under the care of others. At the time of his death, he resided in Lanham, MD under the care of SMVI. Joseph was predeceased by his parents, sisters, Elsie Windsor, Mildred Boswell, and brother Dick Asmussen. Joseph is survived by his brother, Richard Asmussen and many nieces and nephews.
