Joyce Ann "Cookie" Shorter's Obituary
Mrs. Joyce Ann (Lyles) Shorter "Cookie" was born to Paul Joseph, Sr., and Ella Louise Lyles on November 21, 1953 in LaPlata, MD. She departed this life on Friday, April 17, 2020. Joyce was educated in the Charles County public school system and went on to complete a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program. She married her husband of 35 years, Theodore H. Shorter, Sr. on November 26, 1985.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Ella Lyles, her brothers Albert "Butchie" and George Lyles, grandson Trae Hurd, nephews Paul Shorter, and Nathaniel Penn and niece Mia Shorter.
"Cookie", a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend leaves to rejoice in her memories; her loving husband Theodore Shorter, Sr, two daughters Patricia Renee and Stephanie Ann (Chris), son Theodore Harry, Jr "TJ", four brothers Paul Joseph, Jr. "Jimbuddy", William Leroy "Tinyman", Clarence Leo " DD" (Marlene), James Randolph "Randy", and sister Carolyn Prince "Angel". She also leaves seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, 17 nieces and nephews, 31 great nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew.
