Judie Marjorie Turner's Obituary
Judie Marjorie Turner (Pickrel) of Indian Head, Maryland, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024 at the age of 87 in La Plata, MD.
Born on August 22, 1937, Judie was known for her caring and loving nature as a devoted wife, mother and Nana.
Her professional life included a decade-long tenure as an accountant with Acacia Life Insurance, after which she embraced the role of a homemaker. Judie had a flair for interior decorating, transforming her home into a seasonal showcase and earning her the affectionate nickname "The Q Queen" from her family due to her love for shopping on QVC. She also cherished going on cruises with her "special peeps."
Judie is survived by her daughter, Darla Turner; nephew and his wife, Ron and Susan Pickrel; son-in-law, Charlie Russell; granddaughter, April Gray; grandson and his wife, Jason and Andrea Russell; and great grandson, Craig Gnatt. She was also a proud great-great grandmother to Declan and Clara Russell. Judie was preceded in death by her long-life partner, Capwell Jenkins, her sister Brenda Kelly, brother, Ron Pickeral, and daughter Shari Russell.
Judie's presence will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her, Her legacy of love and care will continue to live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024 from 10AM until time of service at 12Noon at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646.
Interment to follow services at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20601.
