Judith Ann South's Obituary
Judith “Judy” Ann South, 79, of Accokeek, MD, passed away on February 27, 2025 at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center, La Plata, MD.
Judy was born on July 17, 1945 in Thurmont, MD to Eloise (Anders) and Joseph Woodall.
Judy worked in retail at a few local stores for several years, but her greatest achievement came from maintaining her family home; raising her children, and caring for her husband. She enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, bird watching, making blankets, listening to country music, watching a good movie, especially a horror film, and watching Judge Judy. She loved being with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Ryan South; brothers; Joseph Woodall, and George Shorb; sister, Margaret Windgrove; and son in-law, Allen Padgette.
She is survived by her son, James R. South; daughters; Bernadine Padgette, and Pam Byus; grandchildren; Raymond Serman and his wife Kelly, Dale Padgette, Nichole Brooks and her husband Stephen, and Branden Byus; and great grandchildren; Jaycob Sutton, Trent Padgette, Ariel Serman, and Michael Serman.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 10:00 AM until time of Service at 12:00 PM at Raymond Funeral Service, 5635 Washington Ave, La Plata, MD 20646. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD.
