Julia Carr McPherson's Obituary
Julia Carr McPherson, 84, of Brandywine passed away on January 29, 2019 at Georgetown University Hospital. Julia was born on Dec. 17, 1934 in Washington, DC, to the late Stuart Kinsey Johns Carr Sr. and the late Aline Marie Herbert Carr.
Julia was a Home Economics teacher for Prince George's County Public Schools for 25 years, retiring in 1983. She was a past member of the Baden VFD Ladies Auxiliary and the Women's Group of St. Paul's Parish. Julia enjoyed sewing, quilting, antiques, jewelry, and spending time with her family and friends.
Julia is survived by her husband of 60 years, John "Jack" McPherson; her daughter, Julia Doremus M. Jenkins; her grandson, William Tyler Jenkins (Randi); and her brother, Stuart Kinsey Johns Carr Jr. "Johnny" (Barbara). She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Philip Higgins Carr; and her son-in-law, William Scott Jenkins.
Julia's funeral service was held on Monday, Feb. 4 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Brandywine, MD.
