June Margaret Atchison, age 90, of Lusby, MD, passed away on May 21, 2025, in Callaway, MD.
June was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1934, in Washington, DC to the late Thomas and Cartha Seger. A lifelong resident of Prince Georges and Charles Counties, June was a devoted and caring homemaker. She enjoyed a variety of activities, including bingo, playing cards, gardening, cooking, puzzles, dancing, and outdoor games like horseshoes and cornhole. Most of all, June loved spending time with her family.
Along with her parents, June is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Atchison; 3 children, Robert Clenney, Margaret Clenney, and Michael Clenney; and her 8 siblings, Thomas Seger, Patricia Newquist, Roberta Hamilton, Wilford Seger, Andrew Seger, Cartha Hall, James Seger, and George Seger.
June is survived by her children, Joseph Atchison (Donna), Elizabeth Fowler (John), Cartha Marks, and James Atchison (Sharon); her sister, Frances Robinson; 12 grandchildren, Michelle Valdez-Clenney of CA, Joseph Atchison of Japan, Wendy Cross (Kevin) of TX, Tosha Herbert (Jim) of MD, John Fowler (Janette) of MD, Robert Clenney of Germany, James Atchison (Karen) of MD, Sharron Woodleif (Thom) of MD, Heather Atchison of MD, Jennafer Vermillion (Michael) of MD, Keisha Marks of FL, and DJ Marks of MD; as well as 27 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
A viewing for June will be held at Raymond Funeral Service Chapel in La Plata, MD on Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 10am until her funeral service at 12pm. Interment will immediately follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf.
