Kelly Robert Cox's Obituary
Kelly Robert Cox, age 94, passed way peacefully at his home on January 1, 2021.
Kelly was born on February 7, 1926 in Floyd, Virginia and lived in Pisgah, Maryland for the last 60 years of his life. Kelly loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with family. His favorite time was spent with his family playing pitch. Kelly was a friend to all and never met a stranger. Kelly proudly served in the U. S. Army during World War II following which he farmed and worked for the D. C. Government until his retirement in 1990.
Kelly is survived by his wife of 70 years, Cleo Jeanette Cox (Roop); his 6 children Carolyn (husband Freddie) Crouse, Gary Cox, Ava Bowden (Tommy Dixon), Janet Cox, Beckey (husband Howard) Haft and Roy Cox; his 17 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Christie Cox; his daughter Christie Cox who he lost in 1967; his six brothers Leslie, Warren, Elmer, Clinton, Charlie, Archie and his sister Myrtle Phillips.
Funeral services and interment will be private due to the circumstances of the COVID-19 Pandemic. We are sorry to be without your friendship and physical comfort, but it is our sincere hope that a Celebration of Kelly’s Life will be possible in the future.
