Ladson Elmore Kirk Jr.'s Obituary
Beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather Ladson Elmore Kirk, Jr. (Buddy), 87 died on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at his home in Leonardtown, MD with his wife by his side.
Buddy was born August 8, 1937, to the late Ladson Elmore Kirk, Sr and Jean Gloria Shank. Buddy was an avid fisherman. He loved to be outside working in the yard with the many fruit and vegetables he grew. He also loved nothing more than to spend time with his family. He was the kind of person that would do anything for his family. His legacy of kindness and compassion lives on in the hearts of all that knew him.
Buddy married Linda Hyatt on April 7, 1984. The two were lifelong companions and bestfriends. They were inseparable and family was their life.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents Ladson Elmore Kirk, Sr and Jean Gloria Shank, brothers Frederick Kirk and Gene Kirk and step daughter Bonnie Hoffman. Buddy is also survived by his son Christopher Kirk (Bonnie) of LaPlata, MD as well as 3 step children Brenda Morales (Ed) of Sarasota, FL, Sharon Payne of Lusby, MD and Jeff Wohlfarth (Lisa) of Lakeland, FL; 15 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren; sister Rosemarie Hamilton.
Buddy worked for the federal government at the Internal Revenue Service for numerous years as a Graphic Designer. He was very well liked and many looked upon him for advice and he was always there for anyone who needed help.
Visitation is being held on Friday, December 13, 11am-1pm followed by funeral services at 1pm at Huntt Funeral Home 3035 Old Washington Road Waldorf, MD. Graveside service to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens 3221 Mattawoman Beantown Road Waldorf, MD.
