Lois Elouise Viars' Obituary
Lois " Elouise" Newman Viars, age 95, of Fredericksburg, Va. (formerly of Indian Head, Maryland went to be with her Lord on Wednesday March 5, 2025 in Fredericksburg Va.
"Elouise" as most knew her, was born in Carroll, County Va on October 12, 1929 to the late Linne Jordan Newman and Margaret Beatrice King Newman,
Elouise is preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers, Pete, Carson, Jake, JL / "Bud", Dylis, and Barry Newman, and one sister Betty Newman Bowman, Stamper.
Her devoted husband of over 60 years, Alfred " Shorty" Viars, her 3 sons, Kenny Viars, David Viars and Robert Viars and a granddaughter Victoria Viars.
Elouise is survived by her beloved sister and "Best Friend" Bobbie Newman Fender of Woodlawn Va and her brother and spouse Roger and Judy Newman of Hillsville Va. 4 grandchildren; Michelle Breeden and husband John, Betty Jo Conley and Carey, Melanie Bailey, Monica Kempson and husband Jon,13 great grandchildren,2 great great grand. A host of nieces, nephews, a host of folks she chose as family along the way and many, many friends.
Elouise spent most of her later years as a homemaker. She enjoyed the genealogy of her family, traveling with her beloved husband " Shorty" to include Germany, Switzerland, and Spain, camping at the Wilderness where many memories were made and blessings were in abundance, spending time with family and friends and loving unconditionally.
She was an anchor to all who knew her, open arms and an open door. She was there for you anytime you called upon her without condition. She leaves behind a legacy of a life well lived. Her scars were a testament of love, a relationship she had with those she loved. She always said " if the scars are deep, so was the love”.
The family will receive friends on Monday March 17, 2025 starting at 10am until 12 noon with service at noon, at Raymond Funeral Service,5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata Maryland 20646. Interment will follow @ Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman, Beantown Road, Waldorf Maryland 20601
