Lorenzo "Larry" Senires Jr.'s Obituary
Lorenzo (Larry) Senires Jr., 88, of La Plata, Maryland, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center. He was born on August 11, 1937, in Washington, D.C., to the late Lorenzo Senires and the late Mary Anne Pettie Esperancilla.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Ann Paje, and his grandson J.D. Dubyak. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Louise Senires; his children, Paula Senires, Snookie Guetzka (Mark), Larry Senires (Sue), and Vincent Senires; stepchildren, Steve Willingham (Teresa), Terry Langley (Keith), and Robert Willingham (Connie); his brother, David Senires; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle. He was known for his incredible storytelling, quick wit, and ability to make everyone around him laugh. He never met a stranger—every encounter became a friendship that he cherished and nurtured. Larry had a deep love for people and always stayed in touch with those he met throughout his life.
He looked forward to attending reunions—whether with his Navy shipmates from The Galveston, his grade school and high school classmates, former coworkers, or neighbors. Larry had a passion for travel, visiting 48 states and 10 countries. One of his favorite destinations was Las Vegas, where he enjoyed spending time six months out of each year.
A proud United States Navy veteran, Larry later retired from the Department of Defense after 32 years of dedicated service. He attended St. Joseph’s College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment with full Navy honors at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman Beantown Road, Waldorf, Maryland.
Pallbearers will be Grant Senires, Julian Dart, Joey Paje, Jonathan Wood, Keith Langley, and Justin Langley.
