Margaret "Missy" Braden's Obituary
Margaret Mary “Missy” Braden, age 62, of Waldorf, Maryland, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on August 19, 2024. Born on December 18, 1961, alongside her fraternal twin brother, Missy entered the world as one of eight cherished children of William Anthony and Mary Caroline “Marilyn” Brazerol. She was raised in a lively household and later attended the prestigious Academy of Notre Dame, where she graduated in May 1980. Missy was known for her zest for life, reveling in the company of her friends and savoring the joys of youth. She possessed a tender heart, particularly for animals, and had a special bond with her beloved cat, Dobby.
On November 25, 1994, Missy embarked on a new chapter in life when she married Kevin, her devoted partner. Eager to build a family, they welcomed their first daughter, Anna Nicole, in January 1996, followed by the arrival of their second daughter, Brittney Michelle, in March 1998.
Missy embraced her role as a stay-at-home mother, homemaker, and caregiver with unwavering dedication. Her love for her family was profound, and she devoted herself entirely to their well-being. Raising her two daughters with boundless affection, she also delighted in nurturing her two grandchildren, creating a home filled with warmth and love. Missy was an active and vibrant presence in her community, generously volunteering at her church, substitute teaching, and offering care to elderly neighbors. Her spirit was marked by strength, independence, and an outspoken nature that endeared her to many. Missy also courageously battled and triumphed over kidney cancer, a testament to her indomitable will.
Margaret “Missy” Braden is predeceased by her parents, William Anthony Brazerol and Mary Caroline “Marilyn” Brazerol (Bowlen). She leaves behind her beloved husband, Kevin F. Braden; her cherished daughters, Anna Nicole Gilliam (Andre) and Brittney Braden; and her treasured grandchildren, Alonna (age 7) and Amiya (age 3). Missy is also survived by her seven siblings: Jean “Jeannie” Coffman, Kathleen “Kathy” Amberger (Steven), Anne Buel (Bob), Joseph “Joe” Brazerol (Amy), William “Bill” Brazerol (Tony), her fraternal twin brother Matthew “Matt” Brazerol (Lucy), and her youngest sibling, Elizabeth “Cricket” Hosier (Bill). Her extended family, including numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
