Margaret Rae Conley's Obituary
Margaret Rae Conley stepped into God’s glorious heaven on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. Her lifelong dedication and service to the Lord was, at long last, rewarded.
Her husband, Jimmie Conley, predeceased her in 2012. She is survived by a large family that includes siblings Loren Canter (wife Barbara, deceased), MaryAnn Hanback (husband Lee, deceased), Betty Cottrell (husband Scott), Gina McKell, Miriam Oliver (husband Bill, deceased), Allan Canter (deceased, wife Margaret), Matt Canter (wife Margaret), John Canter (wife Robin) and Wally Canter (wife Paula, deceased).
Despite having no formal training or lessons, she played the piano beautifully. She always said the ability to play was a gift from God. She played the piano and sang with her family in churches all over the United States. She was an excellent cook, loved to entertain and attended church her entire life. She was known for being an excellent seamstress and could make everything from seat cushions to curtains and most of her own tailored clothing. Administration was another gift that served her well in the jobs and positions she held during her working years. Her family meant everything to her and reminiscing with them was a favorite pastime. Her stubborn nature, character, reliability and graciousness were always evident in whatever she pursued.
A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, July 23 at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, Maryland.
