Margaret Vivian Posey's Obituary
Margaret (Peggy) Vivian Posey, 93, of Indian Head, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born on September 22, 1931 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Herbert S. Dern and Margaret G. Dern. Peggy worked for the family bus company as the bookkeeper then later for Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Her sons were in a band and she would chaperone the teen dances when they played. She was very active with the teens in their community. She loved watching the Baltimore Orioles, going to her children and grandchildren's sporting and other events. Peggy enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas. Always preparing delicious meals and going overboard with presents! After her husband Charlie died one of her wishes was to be able to stay in her home. Her son Billy took care of her for years making sure she was able to do so. The last year she had 24 hour care given by her wonderful caregiver Charmaine.
In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her husband Charles H. Posey; daughter Rae Ann Shores; grandchildren Ashleigh Posey and Christopher Posey and great grandson Bryce Posey.
Peggy is survived by her sons Bill and his wife Donna, Gary and his wife Debbie, Buck and his wife Becky; son-in-law David Shores; grandchildren Brooks Posey (April), Kevin Posey (Joy), Bucky Posey, Taelyr Celia (Anthony), Kurt Shores; great grandchildren Ty Posey (Shaina), Kaila Posey (Addison), Seth Posey, Breeana Posey, Cameryn Posey, Andrew Skatzes; Reagan Posey, McKenzie Brown; Great Great Grandson Landon; special daughter-in-law Sue McCormick; her amazing caregiver Charmaine Samuels-Cole; neighbor Tami and other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 10AM until time of service at 12Noon at Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. Interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20601. Pallbearers are Kevin Posey, Brooks Posey, Ty Posey, Wayne Dudley, Kurt Shores and David Shores.
