Mary Louise Knight's Obituary
Mary L. Knight, age 90, of Accokeek, Maryland passed away on January 7, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 28, 1933 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Robert Henry Powell and Mary Evelyn Powell. Mary worked as a Security Specialist at the Naval Research Laboratory, and later continued as the Security Officer for Envisioneering, Inc. She enjoyed camping, travelling, and spending time with family.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Lee Knight.
Mary is survived by her children Janet Lynne Tull, Brenda Kay Brown, and Gregory Lee Knight; sons-in-law Timothy Tull and Robert Brown; grandchildren Valerie (Brown) Brashears, Nicole Brown, Adam Tull, and Corey Tull. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, her sister Nancy, as well as several special nieces and nephews. Mary has many other relatives and dear friends. A special recent friend and caregiver is Sue Chapura who took wonderful care of her.
Visitation on Monday, January 15, 2024 from 6-8PM with an additional Visitation on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 10AM until time of Funeral Service at 11AM at Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. Interment on date at 12PM at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20601.
