MIRIAM (CANTER) OLIVER:
Wife Of William Oliver, born Dec. 31, 1939, in West River, Maryland.
She was the youngest daughter of Hugh Mitchell, and Regina Inez (Willett) Canter of Southern Maryland, St Mary’s County.
Son: Mitchell Taylor, Oliver
Daughter: Shiela Douglas (deceased)
Siblings: Hugh Loren Canter, Maryann Canter Hanbach, Betty Jane Canter Cotrell, Margaret Canter Conley (deceased), Allan Bruce Canter (deceased), Regina Canter McKell, Harold Matthew Canter, John Weldon Canter, Homer Wallace Canter.
Graduated La Plata High School in 1957, with Honors.
Employed at Naval Research labs and offices, received highest Presidential award for her work there, retired as a GSA 15.
Traveled with her siblings, THE CANTER FAMILY, singing Gospel music, appearing as guest singers at many churches of all denominations. Miriam sang a very clear soprano.
Miriam was a dedicated family person, with two children and five grandchildren, who had retired to Florida, and lived a restful life; she enjoyed family get togethers.
